Sheikh Tamjidur Rahman

I have graduated from the department of Textile Engineering of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh. During my study period I have gained extensive skills in different field of engineering specially in computer science. Our course was designed to give a proper understanding of manufacturing and design. But my interest grew towards materials science when I found some courses really amazing. Nanotechnology, Yarn Manufacturing, High performance fiber and composites was some of the courses which had shed some light on the materials structure and composition. I have profound interest in the application of computer science on human life more intimately.

What are my research interests?

In the current era, knowledge is growing so fast due to unlimited research and study, there is so much I want my hands on. But with my limited knowledge and time I cannot possibly achieve everything. So, I have narrowed down my fields of interest.

  • Nanomaterials
  • Sustainable energy sources
  • Flexible electronics
  • Bioenergy

What are my personal interests?

My interests lie with everything that is creative. I find every technical thing very fascinating, and I spontaneously learn those things. Since my childhood I was raised with an open mind, my family never pushed me to be something. I was not raised to meet the perfection; I was raised to be a learner. When I was at the university, I found out that knowledge does not matter if it is earned in a hurry. I saw many students having a great academic record having nothing but certificates. On the other hand, students who were not that great ended up making a good fortune out of their skills. So, I have developed my mind to accept everything that seems valuable to me. I can get across things easily which some people might find very hard. I often say that no knowledge is useless, so I keep my mind open to be amazed by anything that people have to offer.

I want to pursue my career as a researcher and want to follow the footsteps of the greatest researchers out there. I am a dedicated and hard-working person who is true believer of miracles that are happening every moment. And no miracle happens without first an attempt or opportunity.
